I remind myself of the project I started for God, the one that is right here at my finger tips. Yet, day after day I remain in the same place, reasoning with myself to stay put.
“I can start writing again when I’m ready.”
“I am unable to make sense of everything that has happened.”
“How can I help people learn about God, when I am failing Him?”
As I let a million little questions roam around in my mind, God remains faithful. He continues to love me, to challenge me, to walk with me. He even goes before me, making the impossible, possible.
“I will go before you and level the uneven places. I will shatter the bronze doors and cut the iron bars in two.”
Isaiah 45:2 HCSB
I wonder how easily I managed to pull myself away from God’s plan.
The truth is this can happen to any of us who love God. One day at a time, one reason at a time, we can talk ourselves into taking the road that is paved with our own promises.
And the only reason the first step feels impossible is because we make it feel that way.
Our mind is quite powerful. But God’s guidance wins the battle of the mind every time when we give our focus and energy back to the one who is faithful.
His dedication to us is true; it never waivers. His word is a foundation one can stand on to be protected from outside influence and our own ways of thinking. To get to this point though, our eyes and ears have remain open to God, seeking Him even during uncertainty.
Give Your Energy Back To God: Renew Your Mind
“Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.”
Romans 12:2 HCSB
The noise around us is constant. Besides all the information floating around, the opinions of loved ones or even social media can play a role in our daily lives.
If you are similar to me, then you know all about trying to solve life’s problems on your own. I am always looking for the next best option to deal with my health issues in particular.
There has to be an answer; something to take away the pain so I can become physically and emotionally stronger. I often go into this relentless mode of searching and questioning, which is not necessarily a negative, but my focus is not where it should be.
I am searching the world for resolutions without slowing down to include God, who should be the first one I go to for help. The more I try to figure things out on my own, the more I find myself struggling to put the pieces together.
God has a purpose in whatever we are battling.
I know now how dangerous it can be to get stuck in the pain or the struggle itself. This only allows your thoughts to remain in a place of frustration, stagnant. Life can then become dependent on the level of pain or stress one is in- low or high, meaning possible or impossible.
But nothing is impossible with God. Maybe my body can’t do what I had planned for the day, but that doesn’t mean I can’t do what God has planned for me.
This is one example of why God says to renew your mind. Our thoughts can lead us to a limited mindset where the struggle becomes bigger than our faith.
In contrast, God says: “be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer.” Romans 12:12HCSB
When we are in pain physically or emotionally, God will, in fact, use that hardship to make us stronger.
God explains that “affliction produces endurance, endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope.” Romans 5:3-4 HCBS
Having endurance is possible when we depend on our faith first instead of remedies that are short term.
God has an answer that will completely change your viewpoint or current coping mechanism.
With the Lord, you will be able to manage every challenge with a new message to yourself.
I can start again today, because God is with me.
I pray that in this moment your first step toward God and His plan for your life feels more possible. Take any energy you’ve placed out into the world and give it back to God. Start with a simple prayer of gratitude and one bible verse.
As God strengthens you, your faith will grow and your hope in God will begin to lead you.
Today is possible because of God.
“For nothing will be impossible with God.”
Luke 1:37 HCSB
Thank you for letting me share what God is teaching me. His dedication brought me right back to this place – Dedicated to Jesus. For this, I am so thankful.
