Five days, five notes of thankfulness, and right there in front of me were five reasons to continue on the road ahead.
Sometimes the simplest of tasks, a scribbled list at that, can bring about the most significant realizations.
The Lord provides for us in a way that cannot be matched by anyone or anything, because there is no question about His love for us.
When the Lord says, “My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives,” He is pointing out that His gifts are different because they are everlasting. His love is not limited or temporary. Even in moments where we stray from the Lord, His love for us does not alter or become less than before. He is always there with us. I believe this is the peace of the Lord.
As we enter the season of giving, I wanted to pass along to you these 5 gifts from the Lord.
Each and every day Jesus gives us mercy, strength, community, possibility, and rest.
Let’s take a more in depth look at each of these beautiful gifts. Please feel free to screen shot any of the following.
You can start again. Yes, you can.
Do not hold on to the failures of yesterday.
The Lord does not expect us to be perfect. He just wants us to learn from our mistakes by turning to Him and His word for guidance.
Embrace each day with a smile.
Thank you Jesus for your mercy, patience and kindness.
You can always lean on the Lord.
There is no reason to carry any weight of this life on your own. He knows your struggle. He knows your pains. He knows what worries you.
The Lord says He will never leave us to deal with any circumstance on our own, but we have to truly trust Him by turning to Him. This is when we become more open to the Lord and He is able to strengthen us.
Thank you Jesus for your presence in our lives because it makes us stronger.
You have been given a community – one where healing takes place.
As a follower of Christ, we are the body the Lord is referring to. How special of a gift to be a part of His community.
This gift often times is discovered within the church itself, where we meet others who can counsel us during tough times, laugh with us in joyful moments, and pray for us.
We can give thanks to Jesus by building up this community through the sharing of our faith with each person who crosses our path.
Thank you Jesus for providing a support system.
You can face anything because God is making a way!
All those areas of your life that feel impossible can be overcome with a little bit of will and a whole lot of Jesus.
As we become more willing to hand over our original ways of thinking, the more Jesus can work through us, giving us new vision and the ability to move forward in a different way.
Thank you Jesus for opening our eyes to see that there is another way.
You always have a place to rest.
That place is with Jesus, who wants to comfort you with His love. You have access to Him no matter the time, day, or location.
This precious gift of rest cannot be found anywhere else because all else is temporary.
Thank you Jesus for wrapping your love around us and carrying our burdens.
All that we are given by the Lord is real.
Mercy, strength, community, possibility, and rest are just among the few.
Keep turning to the Lord and He will provide.
If you are reading this and want to have a relationship with Him, it’s a simple step and He has been waiting for you. All you need to do is say a simple prayer … Jesus, I invite you into my heart as my Lord and Savior. Forgive me of all my sins. I put aside my old ways and embrace the path you have set before me. Thank you for every gift you provide. Please guide me and show me your ways. With love and thankfulness, I pray. Amen.
Happy Thanksgiving! May the Lord bless you and your family this holiday season.
